The overall objective of M-GATE is to understand how the hippocampus contributes to memory. In order to achieve this, specific aims of experimental, theoretical and technological character have been closely intertwined.
Specific aims of M-GATE
- understand the neural code of memory, within each structure of the hippocampal formation
- understand the interactions between different structures in the hippocampal formation and cerebral cortex.
- elucidate the effects of pathology on memory circuitry
- develop and validate new technologies for the investigation of memory circuits.
